Estimate your final settlement
For full-time foreign employees under the standard UAE private-sector gratuity rules. Use confirmed payroll balances and enter 0 for amounts that do not apply.
Estimated final settlement

Entered deductions exceed entitlements. This negative estimate does not establish a debt: ask HR to reconcile each component.

How the final settlement is calculated
Your estimate adds gratuity, unused leave, unpaid salary and other confirmed entitlements, adds or subtracts notice compensation, then subtracts confirmed deductions. It keeps each amount visible so you can compare the breakdown with payroll.
Gratuity and service dates
After at least one counted year, gratuity uses 21 days of basic wage for each of the first five years and 30 days for each later year. Daily basic wage is monthly basic salary divided by 30. Fractions of a year are included. Article 51 caps gratuity at two years' wage; this tool uses 24 times the total monthly wage you enter for that cap.
The estimate includes both service dates and subtracts unpaid absence. Whole years use calendar anniversaries; a remaining year is prorated by the days between consecutive anniversaries, accounting for leap years. Unpaid days shorten the counted service period before this calculation. For a 29 February start, non-leap anniversaries use 28 February. These are transparent estimation conventions, not a prescribed statutory day-count method; HR's calculation of partial years may differ.
Leave, salary and notice
Unused leave payout is basic salary divided by 30, multiplied by your confirmed unused calendar days. Enter a balance from HR rather than assuming all leave since joining remains unused. Outstanding salary is entered directly to accommodate payroll's actual amount, instead of assuming every salary month has 30 days. Unserved notice compensation uses total monthly wage divided by 30 times the confirmed unserved days.
Worked example
Joining on 1 January 2022 and ending on 31 December 2025 gives four full counted years with no unpaid absence. At AED 8,000 basic and AED 12,000 total monthly wage, gratuity is 21 × 4 × (8,000 ÷ 30) = AED 22,400. Twelve unused leave days add AED 3,200. With AED 12,000 unpaid salary and no other amounts, the estimate is AED 37,600. Thirty confirmed unserved notice days owed by the employer would add AED 12,000; if owed by the employee, they would subtract AED 12,000.
What this estimate does not cover
UAE nationals' pension benefits, government and domestic workers, part-time arrangements, DIFC/ADGM employment rules and alternative end-of-service savings schemes require a different assessment. The calculator does not determine whether notice pay, a deduction, bonus, compensation or a repatriation benefit is legally due. Confirm those items before entering them.

Common questions
Does resigning reduce gratuity?
The standard 2021-law gratuity formula does not apply the old resignation reductions. Eligibility and the employment arrangement still matter.
Does basic salary or total salary apply?
Basic salary is used for gratuity accrual and unused leave. Total wage is used here for notice compensation and the two-year wage cap. Check contractual allowances and benefits with HR.
Are my inputs uploaded or saved?
The calculation runs in your browser and does not upload or store your salary inputs. The website's ordinary analytics and advertising still apply as described in our privacy policy.
Can I save the breakdown?
Calculate first, then choose Print / Save PDF. Your browser's print dialog can save a PDF. Changing an input hides the old result so you print only a fresh estimate.
