What is the Time Zone Converter?

The Time Zone Converter translates a specific time and date from one time zone into another, and also shows a live World Clock with the current time in over 20 major cities across every continent. It correctly accounts for daylight saving time, half-hour offsets like India and Iran, and quarter-hour offsets, using each region's real timezone rules for the date entered.

How to Use It

Enter a time and date, pick a "From" time zone and a "To" time zone, and click Convert to see both times side by side along with the offset between them. Use "Use Current Time" to jump to right now, the swap button to flip the two zones, or click any city in the World Clock grid to load it as your "From" zone instantly.

When to Use It

Use it to schedule a call or meeting across time zones, to figure out what time a livestream or flight departure actually falls at in your own zone, or to check whether a deadline given in another region's time has already passed. It's also useful for remote teams coordinating working hours across countries.

Who Benefits

Remote workers and distributed teams scheduling meetings, travelers planning calls home or flight connections, event organizers announcing times to a global audience, and online gamers or streamers coordinating with viewers abroad all get an accurate, DST-aware conversion instantly.

Frequently Asked Questions

UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the primary time standard by which the world regulates clocks. It's essentially the same as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) for practical purposes. All other time zones are expressed as UTC+ or UTC- offsets. UTC does not change with daylight saving time.
Enter the proposed meeting time in your local time zone, then select each participant's time zone as the "To" zone to see their local time. Aim for overlap during normal business hours (9 AM–6 PM) for all participants — the converter makes it easy to test a few candidate times until you find one that works.
Yes. The converter uses your browser's built-in timezone data, which automatically applies the correct daylight saving rules for each region and the specific date you enter — so a conversion in July and one in January for the same city can show different offsets, which is expected.
