About Text Tools

Our text tools help writers, students, developers and professionals work more efficiently with text content. From counting words and characters to converting case and generating placeholder text, these free browser-based tools require no downloads or sign-ups.

Writing and Editing Tools

The word counter and character counter help you meet length requirements for essays, social media posts, SEO meta descriptions and more. The case converter instantly transforms text between uppercase, lowercase, title case and sentence case.

Development and Design

The Lorem Ipsum generator creates placeholder text for mockups, wireframes and design layouts - essential for designers and developers building templates before final content is ready.

Why Use Online Text Tools?

All processing happens directly in your browser - your text never leaves your device, ensuring complete privacy. No software installation needed, and tools work on any device with a web browser.

Using text tools for real writing jobs

Length limits are everywhere: school essays, job applications, social posts and search results. These tools help you stay inside them.

Word and character counts. Different systems count differently. Most word processors count a word as any run of characters separated by spaces; some character limits count spaces and some do not. Check which rule applies before you submit. The Word Counter also estimates reading time, commonly based on about 200 to 250 words per minute for silent reading.

Search and social limits. Search engines show roughly the first 50 to 60 characters of a page title and about 150 to 160 characters of a description before cutting them off, so put the important words first. The Character Counter shows the count with and without spaces so you can match either rule.

Changing case. The Case Converter switches between UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case and Sentence case, and also developer styles such as camelCase and snake_case. Title case follows style rules about small words like "of" and "the", so check headings that must follow a particular style guide.

Placeholder text. Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin used so a design can be judged without distracting readers with real words. Replace it with real copy before publishing, because pages with filler text look unfinished and give search engines nothing useful to index.

Privacy. These tools run in your browser, so the text you paste is not sent to a server. Even so, avoid pasting passwords or confidential documents into any website on a shared computer.
