About Clay Pottery
Clay Pottery takes you through making a pot the way a potter does. Each level has an order card showing the pot a customer wants. First centre the wobbling lump of wet clay on the wheel by holding it steady, and watch it open into a cylinder. Then shape it: drag on the sides to pull the soft clay in or out until it fits the dashed outline of a cup, bowl, vase, jug, urn, bottle or planter. Wet clay moves like real clay, so pulling one part shifts the parts next to it too. Leave it to dry, then fire it in the kiln: hold the heat button to keep the temperature in the green as the kiln glows from dull red to bright orange. Too cool for too long and the pot cracks; too hot and it burns. Last, glaze it: pick from up to twelve glazes and hold the brush on the turning pot to paint each part, then add a design such as stripes, flowers, leaves, checks, swirls or waves in any colour. Raw glaze looks pale and chalky, and the final glaze firing turns it bright and glossy. The closer you match the order, the more stars you earn.
How to play
- Hold the clay to centre it on the wheel.
- Drag on the spinning clay to match the dashed outline, then tap Done.
- Hold the heat button to keep the kiln in the green until the pot is fired.
- Pick a glaze and hold the brush on the turning pot; add a design in a colour you pick.
